What "Swiss Made" Truly Means

At Tate Wade, "Swiss Made" is more than a label; it's our promise of quality and a reflection of our dedication to craftsmanship.

The official "Swiss Made" designation is a mark of authenticity and excellence, legally protected by Swiss law. For a watch to earn this distinction, it must meet strict criteria:

  • Swiss Movement:
The watch's movement must be Swiss, and at least 60% of its manufacturing value must be generated in Switzerland.
  • Assembly:
The movement and the watch itself must be assembled in Switzerland.
  • Inspection & Quality Control:
The final inspection of the watch must be carried out in Switzerland.

We build each of our watches in Biel/Bienne, the heart of Swiss watchmaking, partnering with trusted local artisans. This ensures every timepiece not only meets but exceeds these standards, a testament to a tradition of precision and artistry that has been perfected over centuries.

SWISS MADE

Our Manufacturing Process

The creation of a Tate Wade watch is a meticulous journey, blending our passion for design with Swiss engineering. It is an art form that requires patience, skill, and an unwavering attention to detail.

When you choose a Tate Wade watch, you are not just buying a timepiece; you are investing in a piece of Swiss craftsmanship—a work of art built with soul and engineered to last.

1. Design & Engineering:

Each timepiece reflects the discipline of Swiss watchmaking and the visual harmony of fine art photography. Every element — from the play of light to the balance of form — is refined to reveal its character gradually, with time.

2. Component Sourcing

We source our components from trusted Swiss partners. From the robust gunmetal case to the durable sapphire crystal and highly reliable automatic movement, every element is selected for its quality and performance.

3. Meticulous Assembly:

Every timepiece is hand-assembled in Switzerland by experienced watchmakers. Every screw, every gear, and every hand is placed with precision, bringing the design to life.

4. Quality Control:

Before a watch can carry the "Swiss Made" mark, it undergoes rigorous inspection. We test for water resistance, accuracy, and overall functionality to ensure it meets our high standards.

5. Final Touches:

The finishing process is crucial. The exhibition case back is engraved, the strap is fitted, and the watch is carefully prepared for its new owner.
